Tanis, the Paris-born, London-based singer-songwriter (full name Tanis Chalopin), grew up in a whirlwind of cultures, raised across six countries like the Bahamas, Switzerland, Beijing, and the UK by her French writer-producer dad and Singaporean top-model mom. Super shy as a kid—her parents even discouraged her music dreams because of it—she found her voice through piano and composing, studying classical music and film scoring in New York, where she snagged awards like the Elmer Bernstein for her scores on stuff like *Trail of the Panda* and *Miraculous Ladybug*.

These days, she's channeling that global vibe into electropop bangers drawn from real-life stories, like her debut single "Ce n'est pas moi" back in 2015 via Warner France, and her fresh EP *Just Some Stories* packed with tracks such as "Turn Off the News," "Kid," and "Priority." Fluent in five languages but most at home in music, the introverted multi-instrumentalist (drums, piano, you name it) battles stage fright but pours her heart into relatable tales of breakups, identity, and growth—COVID even gave her the push to pivot from film scoring to full-on songwriting.
