Born on April 21, 1929, in Mendoza, Argentina, he was part of a large family of modest means and was raised by his aunt after his father's early passing. Tejada Gómez began working at a young age and developed a passion for literature and social activism. He collaborated with musician Oscar Matus, creating songs like "Los hombres del río" and "Tropero padre," which were popularized by Mercedes Sosa. His work often addressed social issues and was influential in the Nuevo Cancionero movement. Tejada Gómez was also known for his political activism, initially supporting the Unión Cívica Radical Intransigente before joining the Communist Party. He passed away on November 3, 1992.
