Bud Rokesky is an Australian alt-country storyteller from Queensland, born in Brisbane, with stints in Rockhampton before settling into his teenage years on a massive 170-acre property outside the tiny town of Imbil (pop. 300). That wide-open isolation sparked his outsider vibe—he picked up his first acoustic guitar at 13, writing songs to kill time amid the red dust and big skies, shaping his raw, reflective style that's earned nods to Springsteen, Marlon Williams, and Waylon Jennings.
Dropping his debut album *Outsider* in 2023, co-produced by Matt Corby and Alex Henriksson at Corby's Rainbow Valley Studios in northern NSW, Bud hit the ground running with tracks like "Baby & I" and festival slots at Tamworth, Gympie, and more, sharing stages with acts like Sons of the East. He's kept the momentum with a flurry of releases like *Hey Now*, the *Volume* series (*Six Months*, *Newtown*, *Wasted*, *Oil Onto The Fire*, *Runaway*), *Getting Old*, and singles that capture life's troubles with tender grit—often penned during long hauls trucking remote highways.
