Zanka Flow

Zanka Flow is a pioneering rap duo from Tangier, Morocco, founded in 1998 by Muslim and L3arbé (sometimes spelled Larbe or L3arbi). Known for their gritty, street-centered style inspired by US rap, Zanka Flow quickly carved out a unique space in the Moroccan underground scene with lyrics in Moroccan Darija that resonated for their authenticity and bold exploration of social realities. Their impact was especially notable in Tangier, where they not only released critically acclaimed albums like *Tanjawa Daba* (2001) and *Jebha* (2003), but also inspired a new wave of Moroccan rappers to follow in their footsteps, helping shape rap into a vital part of Morocco’s modern cultural landscape.

The group became celebrated for their unfiltered approach to music, addressing issues affecting local youth, and their influence stretched across Morocco and beyond, earning them a reputation as trailblazers before disbanding in 2006.
