Plinio Clabassi

Plinio Clabassi was an Italian operatic baritone who enjoyed a successful career in the mid-20th century. Born in 1911, Clabassi studied singing at the Conservatory of Milan and made his professional debut in 1938. He quickly gained recognition for his powerful voice and charismatic stage presence, and went on to perform at major opera houses throughout Europe and the United States. Clabassi was particularly renowned for his interpretations of Verdi and Puccini roles, and his recordings of these operas remain highly regarded today. He passed away in 1999, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most celebrated baritones of his generation.
