D-Shake

D-Shake is a pioneering Dutch techno producer and DJ, best known for creating early 1990s techno anthems like "Yaaah" and "Techno Trance (Paradise Is Now)." These tracks became some of the first worldwide techno club hits, blending rave energy with sophisticated electronic production that still sounds fresh decades later. He initially released these groundbreaking tracks in 1990 through Go Bang Records, earning support from top DJs like Carl Cox and helping to establish the Netherlands as a critical hub for hard-edged electronic music. Over the years, D-Shake has produced music under multiple aliases including Paradise 3001, Cat Scanner, and Hallucination Generation, exploring various styles from techno and trance to cosmic disco and lounge house.

His 1990 classic "Techno Trance" continues to inspire artists, evidenced by a recent collaboration where Armin van Buuren and Adam Beyer reimagined it in 2025, bridging techno and trance scenes for a modern audience. Beyond his early techno legacy, D-Shake (real name Aad de Mooy) also gained recognition as lounge house producer Alex Cortiz, showcasing his versatility across electronic genres. His influence spans from the rave floors of the early '90s to the refined electronic soundscapes embraced today by global audiences.
