The Corrs are an Irish family band that seamlessly blends pop rock with traditional Celtic folk music. Comprising siblings Andrea (lead vocals, tin whistle), Sharon (violin, vocals), Caroline (drums, piano, bodhrán, vocals), and Jim Corr (guitar, piano, vocals), the group hails from Dundalk, Ireland. They gained international prominence in the 1990s with their unique sound that skillfully combines the emotive storytelling of Irish music with the energy of contemporary pop. Their 1995 debut album, "Forgiven, Not Forgotten", was a significant success in Ireland and Australia, while their breakout occurred with the 1997 follow-up album "Talk on Corners", which charted globally.
Over the years, The Corrs have amassed a considerable fan base thanks to their infectious melodies, harmonious vocals, and the incorporation of Irish themes into their music. Their later albums, such as "Borrowed Heaven" (2004) and "Home" (2005), further showcased their ability to fuse traditional and modern elements. "Home" was a tribute to their Irish roots with a collection of traditional Celtic tunes, while "Borrowed Heaven" highlighted original material with the band's signature sound. After a hiatus, the band made a comeback with "White Light" in 2015 and then released "Jupiter Calling" in 2017, which features tracks such as "Son of Solomon" and continues to highlight their dynamic as a family band with a timeless and cross-generational appeal. The Corrs have also stood out for their live performances, including special renditions of Christmas classics such as "O Holy Night" and "Happy Christmas (War is Over)", recorded live at The Vatican.
