Amit Peled is an Israeli-American cellist and educator known for his warm, expressive playing and deep commitment to classical music. Born in Israel, he originally pursued basketball before dedicating himself to the cello, eventually becoming one of today’s most respected cellists. Peled has performed as a soloist with major orchestras worldwide and is also a passionate teacher, serving as a professor at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. He is particularly known for performing on a historic cello once owned by the legendary Pablo Casals, which inspired his album *To Brahms, With Love*. In addition to his solo career, Peled leads the Mount Vernon Virtuosi, an ensemble dedicated to mentoring young musicians and sharing classical music with broader audiences.
