Mission Delirium

Mission Delirium is a vibrant brass band based in San Francisco, known for its eclectic and energetic performances. Formed about five years ago, the band brings together members from notable acts like What Cheer? Brigade, Extra Action Marching Band, and others. Their repertoire is a dynamic mix of global styles, including Bollywood, Balkan, Brazilian, Ethiopian, Tango, Afro-pop, Middle Eastern, Salsa, and more, all infused with a unique San Francisco twist. This 20-piece ensemble is renowned for its engaging live shows, which often feature pounding drums and "face-melting" brass, creating an unforgettable party atmosphere at events like weddings, festivals, and private gatherings.

Mission Delirium has also organized successful tours, including trips to Europe and Brazil, and has recorded a live album in Rio de Janeiro. Their performances are highly mobile, often incorporating wireless microphones and sometimes even a giant parachute, making them adaptable to various settings, whether on-stage, off-stage, or marching through the streets. Despite their energetic and diverse musical offerings, the band has faced discussions around cultural appropriation due to its predominantly white membership and eclectic musical influences.
