Dying Awkward Angel

Dying Awkward Angel is an Italian melodic death metal band formed in 1998 in Turin by guitarist and main composer Edoardo Demuro. Their sound blends the melodic intensity of the Gothenburg melodeath wave—think In Flames and At The Gates—with the aggression of American thrash and death metal, while adding a unique Italian flair. Known for their visceral and energetic live shows, they've built a solid reputation over the decades and toured alongside notable bands such as Decapitated and Impaled Nazarene.

Their latest album, *The Missing Frame* (2025), released via Rockshots Records, marks their heaviest and most deliberate work yet, following the critically praised *Absence of Light* (2018). Singles like “Music Kills” and “9.99” highlight their evolution toward a darker and more atmospheric take on melodic death metal, while still retaining brutal riffs and intense energy. The band features a lineup including Edoardo Demuro (guitar), Davide Onida (bass), and Michele Spallieri (vocals), continuing to push the boundaries of their sound after more than two decades in the scene.
