Borbála Dobozy

Borbála Dobozy is a renowned Hungarian harpsichordist celebrated for her interpretations of Baroque music, particularly the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. Born in Budapest, she began her harpsichord studies under the guidance of Zuzana Růžičková in Bratislava and later continued at the Prague Academy of Music, where she graduated cum laude. Dobozy further honed her skills at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, studying historical performance practice with notable figures such as Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Johann Sonnleitner. Her repertoire spans almost the entire harpsichord literature, including 20th-century and contemporary music, but her focus remains on Bach's oeuvre, having performed nearly all of his harpsichord compositions. She is a professor at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and an ordinary member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts.

Dobozy's career highlights include numerous critically acclaimed recordings, such as her rendition of Bach's *Goldberg Variations* and *The Well-Tempered Clavier*, which have garnered significant international recognition. Her performances are characterized by a flexible and relaxed technique, praised for their natural and pure expression. In addition to her work with Bach's music, Dobozy is committed to showcasing lesser-known composers, reflecting her dedication to preserving and promoting the breadth of harpsichord repertoire.
