**Ewigkeit** is the experimental solo project of British musician James Fogarty, a multi-instrumentalist known for blending genres like black metal, industrial, and spacey synthwave into a uniquely cosmic sound. Emerging in the mid-’90s, Ewigkeit (German for "eternity") has always embraced a DIY ethos, with Fogarty handling everything from composition to production. Over the years, the project has evolved from raw black metal roots to incorporate retro-futuristic synths and sci-fi themes, creating a vibe that feels like a cassette tape found in a UFO wreckage. Recent releases like *Starscape 2.019* and *Land of Fog (20/20 Re-Vision)* showcase his knack for reimagining older tracks with modern flair, while albums like *Depopulate* and *Disclose* lean into dystopian, politically charged textures. When he’s not crafting intergalactic anthems as Ewigkeit, Fogarty also contributes to other projects like Old Forest and Jaldaboath, proving his creativity knows no gravitational pull.
