Sumerian Tombs

**Sumerian Tombs** is a German black metal band formed around 2019–2020 in Köln, known for blending mysticism and ancient Middle Eastern influences into their dark and atmospheric sound. Initially started as a solo project, the music evolved with contributions from members active in other notable acts such as Beltez, Hellgreaser, and Ius Talionis. Their self-titled debut album received praise for its rich guitar melodies, pulsating drums, and eerie synth textures that evoke an archaic vibe inspired by Sumerian culture and mythology. They work closely with Ván Records and Helhallen, who have supported their creative freedom and distribution.

Despite challenges posed by the pandemic, Sumerian Tombs has managed to build a distinctive presence in the black metal scene, largely by composing and recording remotely before performing live. Their first live show was planned for late 2022 in Berlin, with more shows anticipated following that debut. Their most recent full-length release, *Age of Eternal Night* (2025), continues to deliver on their signature atmospheric, aggressive style infused with ancient themes and melodic complexity.
