Rose Tattoo is a legendary Australian rock band that burst onto the scene in the mid-1970s with their no-nonsense style of bluesy hard rock. Hailing from Sydney, the group was founded by slide guitarist Pete Wells and fronted by the gravel-voiced Angry Anderson, whose larger-than-life stage presence helped make the band a standout in the Aussie pub rock scene. Fiercely loud and unapologetically raw, Rose Tattoo became known for their tough, streetwise lyrics and raucous energy, drawing comparisons to fellow Aussie rock giants AC/DC (with whom they also shared producer George Young).
Their signature songs like “Bad Boy for Love,” “Rock 'n' Roll Outlaw,” and “Nice Boys” (famously covered by Guns N’ Roses) earned them a devoted following both at home and overseas. Despite multiple line-up changes and the passing of several original members, Rose Tattoo has continued to perform and record over the decades, staying true to their gritty roots and rough-and-ready sound. They've etched their place in rock history as one of Australia's most influential and enduring hard rock acts.
