Jay Pollmann

Jay Pollmann is a singer-songwriter from Hamilton, Ontario, whose music bridges the gap between rural and urban life through a blend of folk, roots, and blues. Raised in the fields of Haldimand County, his sound is deeply influenced by his upbringing in both the gritty steel town and the countryside. Starting out playing in a garage band called Gruve with his brother, he eventually transitioned to a solo career, releasing his first solo EP, *Head in the Clouds*, in 2017. His 2021 album *One Day Older None The Wiser* captures themes of leaving everything behind in search of something greater, inspired by a Canadian road trip and his life experiences across Eastern Canada. The album earned praise for its mature, foot-stomping rootsy blues vibe and features contributions from notable session musicians, reflecting Pollmann's rich musical journey.
