Slow Meadow is the ambient music project of Houston-based composer and musician Matt Kidd. Emerging from the tranquil intersection of neo-classical composition and ambient music, Slow Meadow's sound is characterized by its lush strings, delicate piano, and rich atmospheric textures. Kidd's compositions are deeply emotive, often evoking a sense of contemplation and introspection.
Since the debut of Slow Meadow's self-titled album in 2015, which was released under the wing of Hammock Music (owned by the ambient band Hammock), Matt Kidd has consistently crafted soundscapes that gently blur the lines between classical chamber music and ambient electronica. With a series of releases that include "Costero" (2017) and "Happy Occident" (2019), Slow Meadow has continued to hone a sonic palette that is both intimate and expansive. The project's more recent works, including reworked tracks such as "Dans le noir (Slow Meadow Rework)" and the evocative "Upstream Dream", showcase Slow Meadow's ability to reinterpret and breathe new life into existing compositions. Always evolving, Slow Meadow offers a refuge of calm in a noisy world, inviting listeners to sink into a world of serene, aural beauty.
