**Civilní Obrana** is a Czech punk rock band formed in 2005 in Čáslav by high school students who started playing in a former civil defense warehouse—hence the name. Known for their fast-paced instrumentals and candid, straightforward lyrics, the band blends punk energy with a raw, honest style. Over the years, Civilní Obrana has released four studio albums—*Konkurz* (2007), *?* (2009), *Loterie* (2012), and *Zlatá deska* (2019)—along with numerous singles like "Holku pevnou mít," "I Like Mrkvička," and "Tereza".
The band members include Marek Calík (vocals, guitar), Pavel Neumann (drums, electronics), Josef Semerád (bass, vocals), and Miloslav Procházka (guitar, vocals). Their backgrounds are diverse, ranging from former clarinetists and semi-professional football players to experienced musicians from other local bands. Civilní Obrana has played major Czech music festivals like Votvírák and Sázavafest and toured with popular bands such as Mandrage and Wohnout. Their music captures a blend of youthful rebelliousness and Czech punk tradition, making them a distinct voice in the country's rock scene.
