Art Lown

Art Lown, affectionately known as "Ardie," was an American musician from West Columbia, South Carolina, born in 1949. He released a rare and heartfelt album titled *Piper Oz the Hound* in 1976, which blends melodic country and psychedelic pop, reflecting his personal struggles with heartbreak. Despite its modest production and limited distribution, the album has gained recognition for its candid songwriting and unique sound. Influenced heavily by The Beatles, Ardie formed a band with family and friends during his school years and recorded *Piper Oz the Hound* with a group of session players. Sadly, Art Lown passed away in February 1977, just months after the album's release.
