Sang Woo Kang

Sang Woo Kang is a highly regarded pianist known for his "prodigiously talented" performances, as described by the Los Angeles Times. He is praised for his "atmospheric and poetic renditions" by the New York Concert Review. Kang has an extensive international career, performing in over 30 countries across Asia, Scandinavia, Europe, Central and South America. He balances his performing life as a solo, orchestral, and chamber musician with teaching positions at Providence College, where he is Chair and Associate Professor of the Department of Music, and at Brown University.

Kang is a graduate of both Juilliard School and the Eastman School of Music, where he earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree. His notable recordings include Mozart’s piano pieces on the NAXOS Label and work with EMI-Korea. He also directs the Piano Institute and Seminar at the Atlantic Music Festival. His performances and teaching career reflect his deep passion for music and his commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians.
