Paganini Ensemble Vienna

Paganini Ensemble Vienna is a dynamic chamber group founded in 2019 by violinist Mario Hossen, dedicated to bringing the lesser-known chamber music of Niccolò Paganini to life. Based in Vienna, the ensemble specializes in performing Paganini’s guitar quartets and other rare works, offering audiences a fresh look at the composer’s genius beyond his famous violin solos. With a commitment to historically informed performance, the group has toured across Europe, Canada, and China, appearing at major venues like the Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, as well as the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid.

The ensemble has also championed contemporary music, premiering new works by composers such as Rainer Bischof and Gheorgi Arnaoudov. Their recordings, including recent albums featuring Paganini’s guitar quartets and string quartets with guitar, have been released by leading labels and have helped uncover new connections between Paganini’s music and that of other classical, romantic, and modern composers. As official Ambassadors of the European Paganini Route, Paganini Ensemble Vienna continues to celebrate and preserve the legacy of one of music’s greatest virtuosos.
