The Greg Kihn Band is a rock group from the San Francisco Bay Area, best known for their catchy power pop sound that blended rock, pop, and new wave sensibilities. Formed in the 1970s and fronted by singer-songwriter Greg Kihn, the band found major success in the early 1980s with hits like “The Breakup Song (They Don’t Write ’Em)” and “Jeopardy,” the latter of which became a top 10 hit in 1983 and was later famously parodied by "Weird Al" Yankovic.
The band was known not just for their infectious hooks but also for a run of cleverly titled albums featuring puns on Kihn's name—like Kihnspiracy and Kihntagious. Over the years, the lineup evolved, but Greg Kihn remained the constant driving force, also building a career as a radio DJ and author. In recent years, the band returned to recording and performing with new energy, releasing the album Rekihndled in 2017.
