Yeah Yeah Noh

Yeah Yeah Noh is a Leicestershire-based indie experimental/psychedelic band that formed in the early 1980s. They were part of the DIY indie scene, influenced by post-punk in the pre-C86 era. The band released several singles and two albums, "When I Am a Big Girl" (1985) and "Cutting The Heavenly Lawn of Greatness...Last Rites for the God Of Love" (1986), before disbanding in 1986. They were championed by John Peel and known for their unique blend of psychedelic and post-punk elements, often drawing comparisons to bands like The Fall and The Nightingales. Yeah Yeah Noh reformed after a 25-year hiatus and have since played select shows and festivals.

The band's music often features witty, sardonic lyrics and a distinctive blend of psychedelic and punk influences. Their compilation "Leicester Square" showcases some of their most notable tracks, highlighting their ability to craft both melodic and experimental songs. Despite their cult following, they have remained somewhat under the radar compared to other influential bands of their era. The current lineup includes Derek Hammond on vocals, John Grayson on guitar, Tom Slater on guitar, Dermot O'Sullivan on bass, Eva Landsberg on keyboards, and Antony Cook on drums.
