Soheil Nafisi is an Iranian-American composer and musician known for his unique blend of traditional Persian melodies with Western classical and jazz influences. Born in Tehran, Nafisi began playing the piano at a young age and later studied composition at the University of Tehran. After moving to the United States, he continued his studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned a doctorate in music composition. Nafisi's music has been performed by renowned ensembles worldwide, including the Kronos Quartet, the San Francisco Symphony, and the Tehran Symphony Orchestra. His compositions often explore themes of cultural identity, displacement, and the search for home.
