Elgan Llŷr Thomas is a Welsh tenor from Llandudno, North Wales, who studied at the Royal Northern College of Music (where he's now an Associate) and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He's built an impressive career performing across the UK's leading opera houses and concert halls, taking on roles ranging from Britten's *The Turn of the Screw* to Verdi's *Rigoletto*, and has appeared with orchestras like the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and Danish National Symphony Orchestra. He's also a composer, and his 2023 debut album *Unveiled*—featuring works by Britten, Tippett, and Ruth Gipps alongside his own compositions—was specifically crafted to champion LGBTQ+ representation in classical music, a cause close to his heart as a gay artist frustrated by opera's traditional focus on heterosexual relationships.
