Kwok Kuen Koo

Kwok Kuen Koo is a pianist known for his interpretations of Chinese classical music. Born in Shanghai, he studied at the prestigious Shanghai Conservatory from 1956 to 1965 under renowned instructors Ma Sisun and Fan Jisen. Koo has been involved in several notable recordings, including "Popular Chinese Piano Pieces" and "Popular Chinese Piano Pieces: Scenes from China & Music of Wang Lisan," where he performs works by various Chinese composers such as Huang Huwei's "Sichuan Suite" and Peixun Chen's "4 Guangdong Scenes". His performances showcase a deep understanding of traditional Chinese music, often incorporating local folk melodies and themes.
