The band's members have included Peter van Zandvoort on drums and vocals, John Romme on bass, Rob Manders on solo guitar, Loed Verhagen on lead vocals, and Jeffrey van Helvoirt on rhythm guitar and vocals. The Blue Moon Rockers have been influenced by artists like Carl Perkins, The Tielman Brothers, and Cliff Richard.

The band was active until their final performance in 2012. During their career, they maintained a strong fan base, with a fan club that published a quarterly newsletter and released a live concert DVD in 2006. Their music reflects a deep appreciation for rockabilly and classic rock, making them a beloved part of the Dutch music scene.
