Native Nod

Native Nod was an influential band within the 90s post-hardcore and emo scenes, with their introspective lyricism and raw, dynamic sound. Emerging from the East Coast, this band made their mark with a sound that was both aggressive and emotionally charged, articulating complex feelings that resonated deeply with their listeners. They gained recognition for their passionate live performances, and despite their relatively short tenure, their impact on the underground music community has been long-lasting.

Their discography, while succinct, is notable for the intense energy and intricate compositions. "Bread," one of their most celebrated releases, serves as a definitive example of their style and capabilities, showcasing the band's ability to blend melody with dissonant, almost chaotic musical backdrops. The self-titled "Native Nod" release further solidified the band's presence in the scene. "This Can't Exist" and "New Compositions And Arrangements For The Zither" are other key works that underline the band's innovative spirit and refusal to be constrained by genre. Although they disbanded in the mid-90s, Native Nod's music continues to inspire and influence a new generation of artists within the indie and punk communities.
