Petr Kotik is a Czech-born American conductor and composer known for his innovative and experimental approach to music. As the founder and artistic director of the Bang on a Can Festival and the S.E.M. Ensemble, he has been a driving force in the contemporary music scene for over four decades. Kotik's compositions often explore the boundaries of sound and structure, incorporating elements of improvisation, electronics, and world music. His recent releases include "The Plains at Gordium," "Alvin Lucier: Orchestral Works," and "Maria de Alvear: World (Live)."
