Jon Faukstad

Jon Faukstad is a renowned Norwegian accordionist and professor of accordion at the Norwegian State Academy of Music in Oslo. Born on July 12, 1944, in Heidal, Gudbrandsdal, he has been a leading figure in Norwegian music since the early 1970s. Faukstad has collaborated with numerous Norwegian composers, premiering and performing their works both domestically and internationally. He is also deeply rooted in folk music, having played in local dance arrangements from a young age and collaborating with folk violinist Hans W. Brimi for over 25 years. Their partnership included concert tours in Norway and the U.S., as well as several recordings.
