Artur Akshelyan is an Armenian composer born on December 28, 1984, in Yerevan. He began his composition studies at the Komitas State Conservatory under Vardan Adjemian from 2002 to 2007. After completing his studies in Armenia, Akshelyan moved to Geneva, where he continued his education with renowned composers Michael Jarrell and Luis Naon at the Haute Ecole de Musique. His compositions often blend traditional Armenian elements with modern techniques, creating a unique sound that reflects his cultural heritage. Akshelyan has been recognized for his work, winning several national and international competitions, including the Sayat-Nova Prize in Paris and the Jurgenson Competition in Moscow.
Akshelyan's music has been performed in various countries, including Armenia, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the United States. His notable works include solo piano pieces like *Waves* and *Game*, which showcase his ability to merge different musical styles and periods into a distinctive voice.
