Mikko Sidoroff is a Finnish choral conductor and composer, born in 1985. He is best known for founding and conducting the Krysostomos Chamber Choir, one of Finland's leading Orthodox choirs. Sidoroff graduated from the Sibelius Academy as a Master of Music in 2011 and has worked with numerous choirs both in Finland and abroad. He currently resides in Germany, where he serves as the opera chorus master at the Landestheater Coburg. Sidoroff's compositions often focus on Orthodox sacred music, and he has been instrumental in premiering new works by himself and other contemporary composers through the Krysostomos Chamber Choir.
Sidoroff's music is characterized by its accessibility and audience-friendly approach, while still respecting the rich tradition of Orthodox liturgical music. His notable works include "Panihida," a Finnish setting of the Orthodox all-night vigil for the dead, which was well-received and named Choral Recording of the Year in 2007. The Krysostomos Chamber Choir has released several albums under the Alba Records label, featuring Sidoroff's compositions alongside those of other Finnish composers. His contributions to Orthodox music have helped pave the way for new compositions within the genre, maintaining a balance between tradition and innovation.
