Proc Fiskal

Proc Fiskal is the moniker of Edinburgh-based producer Joe Powers, known for his forward-thinking approach to grime, deconstructed club sounds, and experimental electronic music. Emerging from Scotland’s underground scene, Proc Fiskal gained attention with his debut EP The Highland Mob in 2015 and broke out more widely with his critically acclaimed debut album Insula in 2018 on Hyperdub. The album showcased his unique ability to weave Scottish urban life, voice samples, and ambient textures into frenetic, glitched-out beats that nod to grime while pushing beyond genre conventions.

Since then, he's continued to push boundaries with releases like Siren Spine Sysex and the Lothian Buses EP, further establishing his reputation for intricate sound design and inventive rhythmic structures. His work often reflects a kaleidoscopic view of local culture, internet-age anxiety, and personal expression, all wrapped in dense digital collages.
