Sarbeswar Bhoi is a celebrated folk singer and performer from Rekhpur village in the Kalahandi district of Odisha, India. Born into a musical family, he developed a passion for Sambalpuri folk music early on. Sarbeswar is not only a gifted singer but also a lyricist, composer, dancer, and actor, known for his deep love of traditional folk forms like Bangri, Boria, Dalkhai, and Rasar Keli. Alongside his artistic career, he has worked as a primary school teacher. His dedication to Sambalpuri music earned him the prestigious Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar from the Kendra Sangeet Natak Akademi, recognizing his significant contribution to preserving and popularizing Odisha's folk heritage. Sarbeswar's popular songs include "Khala Khala Jharana Pani," "Likri Jhikri," and "Baja Baja Ghumura," among others, and he often blends singing with folk dance and instrument playing to bring his performances alive.
