Attomica

Attomica is a Brazilian thrash metal band that was formed in the city of São José dos Campos in 1985. Known for their aggressive playing style and raw energy, the band quickly became one of the prominent figures in Brazil's metal scene during the late 1980s and early 1990s. With founding members André Rod (bass/vocals), João Paulo Francis (guitars), and Mário Sanefuji (drums), their self-titled debut, "Attomica," was released in 1987 and immediately garnered attention for its sharp and fast riffs, combined with political and social commentary.

Throughout their career, Attomica has been through several line-up changes but has managed to sustain their musical aggressiveness and vitality. The band's early work, including "Children's Assassins" (Demo), set the tone for their unrelenting sound, which continued to evolve through subsequent albums like "Limits of Insanity" (1989) and "Disturbing the Noise" (1991). After a brief hiatus in the mid-90s, they reunited and released "Back and Alive" in 2005, demonstrating their ability to adapt and remain relevant in the ever-changing metal landscape. Their later releases, such as "4" (2012), and singles like "The Trick" and "Enter the Battalions," showcase the matured lyrical content and sophisticated musicianship, while still paying homage to their thrash metal roots. Despite the hurdles of time, Attomica stands as a testament to the endurance and spirit of the Brazilian metal scene.
