TISM

TISM (short for This Is Serious Mum) is an Australian satirical alternative rock band known for their humorous and often absurd take on music, pop culture, and society. Formed in Melbourne in the early 1980s, the band built a cult following with their signature mix of energetic rock, electronic elements, and biting, tongue-in-cheek lyrics. TISM's members have always remained anonymous, performing in masks and pseudonyms to keep the focus on their music and message rather than individual fame.

Throughout their career, TISM released several albums, including fan-favorite *Machiavelli and the Four Seasons* (1995), which featured hits like “Greg! The Stop Sign!!” The band became known for their sharp satire, poking fun at everything from the music industry to politics. After disbanding in 2004, they remained relatively inactive until a surprise return in the early 2020s, delighting long-time fans. With their unique blend of humor and alternative rock, TISM continues to be one of Australia's most distinctive and enduring cult bands.
