Peace Orchestra

Peace Orchestra is the moniker for the musical solo project of Peter Kruder, known for being one half of the influential Austrian electronic music duo Kruder & Dorfmeister. Emerging into the electronic music scene with a blend of downtempo, trip-hop, and nu-jazz, Peace Orchestra was founded in the late 1990s when Kruder sought to express his personal creative vision. The project's self-titled debut album 'Peace Orchestra' was released in 1999, receiving critical acclaim for its sophisticated and cinematic soundscapes that perfectly encapsulated the era's electronic listening music zeitgeist.

Following the success of the debut album, Peace Orchestra continued to capture attention with subsequent releases like "Reset" in 2002, an album that further solidified Kruder's place as a master of atmosphere, combining rich textures with suave beats. One of the project's notable tracks is "Who Am I (Animatrix Edit)," a remix created for the 2003 "The Animatrix" soundtrack, an anthology of animated short films set in the universe of "The Matrix." This track, like many from Peace Orchestra, showcases Kruder's ability to merge cinematic elements with electronic music, creating soundscapes that are as evocative as they are rhythmically compelling. Despite a relatively small discography under the Peace Orchestra name, the project remains an emblematic example of the late '90s and early '00s electronica wave, resonating with fans of Ambient and Downtempo music.
