Marek Moś

Marek Moś is a renowned Polish conductor, violinist, and chamber musician. Born on December 3, 1956, in Piekary Śląskie, he has made significant contributions to classical music in Poland. Moś is best known as the founder and long-time first violinist of the Silesian Quartet, which gained international acclaim for its performances at prestigious festivals and venues worldwide. He has also been involved in numerous recordings, winning several awards, including multiple Fryderyk Awards for his albums featuring the music of notable composers like Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Karol Szymanowski, and Witold Lutosławski.

Currently, Marek Moś serves as the artistic director of the AUKSO Chamber Orchestra and the AUKSO Summer Philharmonic festival. His recent work includes conducting various contemporary and classical pieces, contributing to the rich cultural landscape of Polish music. Moś's dedication to promoting chamber music has been recognized with several honors, including the Silver Medal for Merit to Polish Culture 'Gloria Artis' and an honorary citizenship of the City of Tychy.
