Kaoteon

Kaoteon is an extreme metal band founded by Anthony Kaoteon in 1998 under the initial name Chaotaeon. The band hails from Beirut, Lebanon, and later relocated to the Netherlands. Anthony grew up in a tumultuous environment during the Lebanese Civil War, which significantly influenced his music. In 2003, due to misunderstandings about their band name, members were detained for three days on suspicion of devil worship. This adversity did not deter them; instead, they changed their name to Kaoteon and released their first demo shortly after. Kaoteon's music genre is a blend of blackened death metal, reflecting their experiences and cultural background. Over the years, they have released several notable albums, including 'Veni Vidi Vomui' in 2011 and 'Damnatio Memoriae' in 2018, which received positive reviews. Kaoteon is known for their intense sound and for being a unique cultural representative in the metal scene.

Kaoteon's discography highlights their perseverance and artistic dedication. Despite facing challenges in their home country, they have managed to build a global fan base. Their more recent releases include albums like 'Neither God Nor Master' and a self-titled album in 2020. The band's commitment to their music and the fusion of Lebanese experiences with extreme metal elements have made them a distinct figure in the global metal community. With collaborations from notable metal musicians, Kaoteon continues to contribute to the evolving landscape of blackened death metal.
