Anorexia Nervosa

Anorexia Nervosa is a French symphonic black metal band whose intense musical style combines fierce black metal elements with orchestral and industrial influences. Emerging from the city of Limoges in the 1990s, Anorexia Nervosa crafted a sound characterized by rapid tremolo picking, aggressive drumming, symphonic keyboards, and often high operatic or harsh screaming vocals.

The band's discography showcases a progression into a more polished yet no less ferocious sound, with albums like "Drudenhaus" (2001) and "New Obscurantis Order" (2001) receiving critical acclaim in the metal community for their complex compositions and thematic darkness. 2004's "Redemption Process" built upon their legacy, demonstrating both technical proficiency and a willingness to push the boundaries of the genre. Despite their powerful impact on the black metal scene, the group announced their hiatus in 2005 after releasing "Redemption Process", their last full-length album. Anorexia Nervosa's legacy is preserved in their daring exploration of the macabre and the grandiose, still influencing the genre years after they ceased activities.
