Scorner

Scorner is a notable Brutal Death Metal band from Brazil, formed in 1993. The band aimed to create a technically sound Death Metal style inspired by influential bands of their time. Early in their career, Scorner released a demo tape called "Majesty" in 1995, which enhanced their reputation in the Brazilian underground scene. However, the band experienced lineup changes and musical shifts, transitioning towards faster and more extreme Death Metal. They have been involved in notable releases since then, showcasing their brutal sound and polemic lyrics, often critical and anti-Christian. Scorner is recognized as one of the pivotal bands in the Brazilian Brutal Death Metal scene, known for their intense live performances and unique musical identity.

Their recent releases reflect the evolution of their sound, maintaining the core brutality that marks their genre. Among these releases are "Monolithic Insanity," "Majesty MMXV," "Bloodshedding," and the split CD "In Inferioribus Terrae," which they shared with the Black Metal band Insane Devotion. The band has consistently presented a sharp and critical perspective through their lyrics, contributing to their distinct reputation in the metal scene.
