Patrick Fournillier is a renowned French conductor, born on December 26, 1954, in Neuilly-sur-Seine. He is particularly noted for his work in opera, especially with the compositions of Jules Massenet. Fournillier studied in Paris and later at the Strasbourg Conservatoire and the Salzburg Mozarteum. His career includes significant roles such as being the Music Director of the Nouvel Orchestre de Saint-Étienne since 1988 and co-founder and Music Director of the Massenet Festival at Saint Étienne since 1990. He has also conducted at various international venues, including the Paris Opera Ballet and the Opéra Comique in Paris. Fournillier has received numerous awards for his conducting, including the Hans Haring First International Prize and the Second Prize in the International Besançon Competition for Young Conductors.
