Jonathan Pasternack is a renowned conductor with a diverse background in music. Born and raised in New York City, Pasternack began his musical journey as a trombonist, earning a scholarship to the Manhattan School of Music. He later attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he studied political science before pursuing higher degrees in music from the University of Washington. Pasternack has conducted orchestras, operas, and ballets across the globe, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Residentie Orkest of the Hague, and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. His notable recordings include Bartók's "Miraculous Mandarin Suite" and Brahms's "Symphony No. 1" with the London Symphony Orchestra.
Pasternack has also been the artistic director and conductor of the Port Angeles Symphony Orchestra in Washington state.
