Exciter

Exciter is a Canadian speed metal band formed in Ottawa, Ontario, in 1978. Widely considered one of the pioneering bands of the speed and thrash metal subgenres, they carved out their place in metal history with a raw, aggressive sound that would go on to influence countless acts. The band's debut album, Heavy Metal Maniac, released in 1983, is a cult classic and a cornerstone of early thrash metal. Known for their fast tempos, pounding drums, and high-pitched vocals, Exciter helped lay the groundwork for the explosion of thrash in the mid-to-late '80s.

Throughout the years, the band underwent numerous lineup changes, with drummer and vocalist Dan Beehler serving as one of its most recognizable members during their early heyday. Their albums like Violence & Force (1984), Long Live the Loud (1985), and Thrash Speed Burn (2008) showcase their relentless energy and old-school metal ethos. Despite changes in the metal scene and the band's lineup, Exciter has maintained a dedicated fan base and continues to perform live, staying true to their fast and furious roots.
