Black Water Sunset

Black Water Sunset is a dynamic metal band that combines thrash and progressive elements in their music. The group consists of Alvin Primack on bass, Darick Joyce on guitar, and Berzan Önen on vocals. Originally, the band also featured former vocalist Michael Neste, who played a role in their early work. Black Water Sunset debuted with the "Picture Box" EP in May 2021, which included music the members had written a decade prior and revisited during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their first full-length album, "Engraved Spectral Aeons," was released on February 3, 2023, and features notable guest performances by George Kollias, Matt Harvey, and Mattias IA Eklundh, among others. Recent releases include "When Man and Machine Collide: A Tribute to Control Denied" and "The Thing That Should Not Be."

Their music often incorporates complex arrangements and guest collaborations, showcasing a diverse approach to the metal genre. With roots in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the High Desert, California, Black Water Sunset has assembled a transcontinental group of talented musicians, also including the recent addition of Berzan Önen from Turkey. This diverse background adds depth to their compositions, as they continue to explore the boundaries of progressive and thrash metal.
