Stereo MC's

Stereo MC's are an iconic British electronic music group that formed in London in 1985. Established by the core duo—vocalist Rob Birch and producer Nick Hallam—the group achieved considerable success in the early 1990s with their breakthrough album "Connected," which brought them international fame thanks to its eponymous hit single. Known for their fusion of hip hop, funk, and electronic elements, Stereo MC's carved out a distinctive sound that captures the groove and soul of urban life.

Despite creating a hiatus in the mid-90s following heavy touring, the Stereo MC's never truly faded from the music scene. They made a strong return with the album "Deep Down & Dirty" in 2001, and since then, they've consistently evolved their soundscape, combining original hip-hop roots with contemporary beats and remixing work. With releases like "Double Bubble" and "The Here And Now (Tom Middleton Remixes)," Stereo MC's have shown their ability to adapt and innovate, maintaining a presence in the genre. Notably, their tracks such as "Turn The Light On," both in its original form and the SKALA Remix, as well as mixes like the Stereo MC's Bugged Mix of "Lies," exhibit the group's keen knack for blending their old-school feel with modern production techniques.
