King Giddra, often stylized as キングギドラ, is a pioneering Japanese hip-hop group that burst onto the scene in the mid-1990s, helping to shape the underground rap landscape in Japan. Formed by rappers Zeebra and K Dub Shine along with DJ Oasis, they gained fame for their raw, socially conscious lyrics tackling issues like politics, inequality, and urban life. Their debut album "Sora Kara no Chikara" (空からの力) in 1995 was a game-changer, blending hard-hitting beats with thought-provoking rhymes that resonated with a generation hungry for authentic hip-hop in Japanese.
