Mayapuris

The Mayapuris are a vibrant U.S.-based kirtan band known for blending traditional Indian chants with contemporary styles, creating a unique and electrifying sound. Born and raised in a spiritual environment, the band's members, including Visvambhar Sheth (Vish), Krsna Kishore Das (Kish), and Balarama Tirtha Das (Bali), were trained in kirtan from a young age. They have toured across six continents, performing at prestigious yoga and music venues. Their debut album, "Mridanga," topped the iTunes World Music charts, while their album "Nine Islands" also received critical acclaim, featuring a diverse range of genres in its tracks.

The band's music is characterized by thunderous rhythms and soaring vocals, often incorporating a variety of instruments such as the mridanga, esraj, violin, and harmonium. Their performances are a dynamic blend of music, dance, and spoken word, creating a transcendent experience for audiences. The Mayapuris are part of the broader kirtan movement, inspired by the sacred village of Mayapur in West Bengal, India.
