Lower Than Atlantis was an English rock band that emerged from the depths of Watford, Hertfordshire in 2007. Comprised of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Mike Duce, lead guitarist Ben Sansom, bassist Declan Hart, and drummer Eddy Thrower, they forged a path through the alternative music scene with a mix of post-hardcore and melodic punk sounds. The band's gritty, yet infectious, melodies and relatable lyrics quickly began resonating with a growing fanbase.
Over the course of their career, Lower Than Atlantis evolved their sound, moving towards a more mainstream rock vibe while retaining their punchy guitar riffs and anthemic choruses. This sonic evolution is evident in their self-titled 2014 album "Lower Than Atlantis," which served as a turning point towards a cleaner production and catchier hooks. They followed up with "Safe In Sound" in 2017, proving their ability to churn out hit after hit. Despite their success, the band announced their amicable breakup in 2018, leaving behind a legacy encapsulated in five studio albums and a slew of singles—tracks like "Beech Like The Tree," "Deadliest Catch," and "Work for It" standing testament to the raw energy and authenticity they brought to the British rock scene.
