Enrique Bátiz

Enrique Bátiz is a celebrated Mexican conductor and pianist, widely recognized for his passionate interpretations of both Latin American and classical European repertoire. Born in Mexico City, Bátiz initially trained as a pianist before turning to conducting, where he quickly made a name for himself. He is best known for his long-standing role as the conductor of the State of Mexico Symphony Orchestra (Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México), which he founded in 1971 and led for decades, helping to raise the profile of classical music throughout Mexico and abroad.

Throughout his career, Bátiz has recorded an extensive catalog of music, including the complete symphonies of Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Schumann, as well as works by Mexican composers like Carlos Chávez and Manuel M. Ponce. His recordings and international tours—often with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México—have earned him global recognition, and he's particularly admired for his dedication to promoting Latin American music on the world stage.
