Hey-O-Hansen

Hey-O-Hansen is a Berlin-based music project rooted in the creative minds of Helmut Erler (born 1971) and Michael Wolf (born 1959), who formed the band in 1995 after moving to Germany from Austria. Originating from alpine Innsbruck-Tirol, Austria, where they started Austrodub in the 1980s, Hey-O-Hansen blends improvised electronics with sing-along dub chansons, resulting in unpredictable live shows that mix the relaxed vibe of electronic music with a genuine handmade feel—you never quite know what will happen next, and dancing is always encouraged. Over the years, their sound has evolved but consistently explores the intersection of dub, pop, and electronic experimentation.

Running their own small record label, heyrec, Hey-O-Hansen has released a steady stream of singles, albums, and collaborative works, often blending fuzzy drum loops, sparkling vocals, and a range of influences from Latin rhythms to French chanson and beyond. Their performances have taken them from big clubs to small theatres, always keeping their live act fresh and engaging for audiences. Their recent releases, such as "Die Sonn und der Mond (2018 Versions)," "Sno Dub," and "We so Horny - Serious Pleasure Riddims," showcase their ongoing commitment to remixing and evolving their signature Austro-dub sound.
